Job Evaluation

Well I have got to share my WONDERFUL news!!!! I just got a call from CC Hardy Elementary and the VP has asked that I come and sub for all of next week so that she can evaluate and observe me for the position!!!! The teacher just up and quit and they have requested that I fill the spot. Hope I can charm their pants off with my teaching abilities! It's a science position so I'd still have to take my generalist test but oh well that will just give me the extra push to hurry and get it done. All prayers are greatly appreciated!!! XOXO

just keeps gettin better

Well I figured that since I'm stuck in bed all day and can't move I might as well update this blog and do my best to get at least one picture on here ;)

We survived the storm with minimal damage to our home...and of course the worst of the damage is NOT covered in our insurance policy...UGH! But such is life at least we are all safe and sound. Art is recovering wonderfully since being in the hospital. I have my fingerprinting today and will FINALLY OFFICIALLY be certified!

Sofia cut her first tooth this past weekend...YAY! She's still a drooling machine though;) She's been standing up by herself and walking along things and her newest trick is...dum dum dum...standing all by her lonesome! That baby wants to walk oh so badly! She boogies across the floor when she crawls it's oh so cute. As soon as you say "Sofia, come here" she takes off like a rocket. She's been saying "dadadadada" over and over. I told Art though it's not daddy until there are only 2 dada's...he's agreed though so it's ok. I keep trying to get her to say mommy but you know daddy is not as complex for their little mouths to shape. So that's all the new new's on us. Have a great one!

Back to work...

Ok...let's see Sofia has been in school for 2 weeks already! It's crazy to think. I'm certain that I had more of an issue with her being there all day than she did. I mean Art has always had to work all day so it was nothing new to him (well except for the fact that it is new people caring for our child) while I on the other hand have not been a part from my darling little girl for more than a few hours. The first day wasn't that bad I didn't cry when I dropped her off...I think was due to the fact that I had to rush to Willis by 7 and the school didn't open until 6:45...and the next day I was just so tired from the day before that I didn't really think about it either. It was Friday. Friday was when it all came crashing down! I was subbing for an elementary coach and I had morning bus duty...as soon as I saw those little faces I just lost it...I mean every tear in my body was coming. It was like the flood gates had been opened and were not going to close until I had my baby girl in my arms. So with every grade level that came to us for gym I would cry. I cried because the little girl that never get's picked for teams made a great kick during the game we were playing. I cried because I wasn't eating lunch with Sofia. I cried because the only way three of the girls in one class would run was if I ran with them and then the smiles on their faces when I did all I could think of was Sofia's big ole smile! Needless to say I cried about everything that day. I cried the entire drive to pick up Sofia then sobbed some more when I got home and could finally just hold my angel in my arms. So this whole working thing it's new for me especially as a new Mommy and not just as another teacher.

Regardless of everything with me Sofia is doing great at school. She seems to be so far ahead of all the others in her class. She is happy (like always) and thriving and just as cute as can be;) Now if that tooth would just come on in we'd all be happy:)

It's amazing how fast time goes by. How quickly a baby learns and how much love you can have for one person. I never knew I could love someone as much as I love Sofia. She has changed our lives only for the good. She has been nothing but a blessing. We are so fortunate to have her in our lives.

For her 6 month check up Sofia weighed 16 lbs and 12 oz and was 25" long...in hindsight...she's PERFECT! Honestly ;)

As soon as we get this whole blog thing figured out we will post some pictures until then thank you for all of the love and support that you offer to our family. All our love always!

First things first!!

Ok so we have finally created the blog to keep everyone posted on Sofia Mychelle Zarate ;) Tomorrow will be 6 months and boy has it flown by! We have had a very adventuresome past 6 months that's for sure. We bought a house in north Conroe...which is absolutely AMAZING!!! FYI-Anyone who hasn't been out to see it def needs to;) Art has taken a new job at Hillcrest Ford in Huntsville and I will be substitute teaching for this school year. I found out Friday, Augut 22nd, that I have PASSED my certification test and am so very proud! So I have applied for my certification and will have a much easier time finding a job for next school year now. Sofia is going to be attending Glenwood Private School in Conroe beginning September 2nd. We are so fortunate to have found this place. We must have looked at 15 daycares easily...and of course non were up to par. When I went to look at this place it was a Godsend! I couldn't call Art fast enough and tell him about the place. I am very excited for Sofia to be attending this school to say the least.

Sofia had her first "scary" fever last Thursday and we had to make an emergency run to the doctor. Thank the Lord it was only an upper respritory infection and we got the antibiotics for her and her fever is gone. She has been teething for what seems like the last 2 months so I can't wait for her first tooth to finally break through and ease all of our minds. She is sitting up like a champion and crawling around everywhere and of course you know our child is going to be an overachiever...she is already pulling up on everything to stand...way to soon I know...but hey that's our girl;)
